Being on the team of FHSCG was a very comforting and fun experience~ I joined my sophomore year and I do not regret it! I made a majority of my friends while on the team and I definitely broke out of my shell while being on the team. You will learn confidence in yourself when you join FHSCG and I promise you will enjoy your time!

I had a lot of fun being on FHSCG. It really helped me find something that I loved to do in high school. I got to know lots of people and became friends with many of them! I always had a great time doing performances like football games and band competitions as well.

My couple years on guard were amazing! Not only did I try a new sport but I made some of the best friendships. I'm so grateful to my coaches and the time I spend on the team!

FHSCG gave me lifelong friends, taught me valuable lessons about leadership, friendship, hard work, and dedication. Some of my best memories of my time at Fraser High School include my time with the color guard. To me, practicing for guard never felt like “work” because I loved spinning (and still do!). Being on a team doing what I love with my best friends was the most special experience I could have asked for. I’m so lucky to have been able to come back and coach FHSCG and I hope to create the same positive experiences for my students.

I loved every minute of being apart of this team! I learned how to be a better leader and made great friends along the way :)

I absolutely loved my time as part of FHSCG. It was a blast to be part of the half time performance and it helped me grow into a more confident and well rounded individual. My favorite times were spent getting ready for a show and sharing laughs with the team.

FHSCG was hands down the most vital part of my four years at Fraser High School. I am so happy and proud of the family that I have created through this wonderful program and I truly will never forget all the Friday night lights, the Wednesday rehearsals, the band camps, and the “one more time's". I truly wish “one more time” had the same meaning in the real world that it did in FHSCG, because if it did and I got one more time to make unforgettable memories with my team I would never truly have to leave.

Being apart of this wonderful team has cherished me with lifelong memories and friends that will stick with me forever. My favorite moments were from all the team bonding opportunities we had like how at the end of band camp and everyone got their own piece of paper with positive notes from everyone on the team or at the end of the season team dinner we got to enjoy and spend, for some of us, the final moments together. Overall I have never felt such a close relationship to any team I have been on before and this was by far best thing I ever got to do in high school.

Ever since I moved to Fraser in 2011, my mom and I would watch the Fraser parade. We would watch the color guard and band go by as I was mesmerized, my mom suggested I should try out once I got older. The time came, in middle school I heard about the after school RMS Guard, I couldn’t have been more excited. By the first practice I fell in love with the sport and could not wait for the next opportunity that I could spin a flag. A few practices in and Amanda came to visit, she was pregnant and glowing and so so cool. I couldn’t wait to audition for her team and be the best team member I could be. 4 years later, a graduating senior this spring, it is bittersweet to move on because this team gave me more memories, skills, and life long friends than anything. I am proud to have been a section leader for our team for 2 years and a member for 4 years, it was a huge honor and I could not thank my coaches, teammates, friends, and family enough for the opportunities and support they gave me to do what I love. I love FHSCG!!! Special thanks to Coach Amanda, Coach Halle, Coach Sydney, and ‘Spin’tern Jakobe for letting Nessa and I do sabre for our last year, it made it even more special than I could ask.

One of my favorite “core memories” was performing the 2018 Bruno Mars show for the first time in full uniform… It was the exact definition of the right place, right time. My uniform arrived just 45 minutes before we took field, my whole team was in attendance, and the weather was just perfect. This has gone on to be one of my favorite guard memories, as I performed something my team and I and worked so hard on and I got to did it with people I loved. I joined FHSCG because of my amazing friends that pushed me out of my comfort zone, and I was lucky enough, once joining, to have made so many wonderful friendships. I encourage absolutely anyone to take a chance and try color guard, I never, ever thought I would and now almost 6 years later I couldn’t imagine my life without it!

Being on FHSCG was the highlight of my time in high school. I made countless friends, not only in guard but also in marching band. I was able to gain confidence in myself through this sport that I took with me into other aspects of my life. I learned leadership skills, as I was a section leader and later a coach. Going into high school I wasn’t sure I had a place to fit in, but guard gave that to me and I’m forever grateful for that!
